Wendi Gratz's signature strip-piecing style marries the lovely dense texture and scrappy look of antique quilts with the bold, graphic design of Amish quilts. She makes each quilt by hand and pieces improvisationally - with no patterns - so no two quilts are alike. A typical queen-sized quilt has over 2300 pieces in it, each one carefully selected, cut, sewn, and pressed. She finishes each quilt with machine quilting, binds the edges by hand, and then signs and dates the work.

Wendi's quilts make a dramatic statement when hung on a wall, but they are made to be used - we encourage you to snuggle and dream under them.

Colors and Sizes

Quilts are made to order, so please feel free to mix and match colors and patterns to select a quilt that is perfect for you. All designs are available in any color or size. All sizes are approximate and depend on the style of the quilt. Please inquire if you need the exact dimensions for a particular style.

Wendi is happy to create a custom style, size, or color for a small additional fee (fee includes a swatch sample). Please inquire for more information if you want to match that lovely pillow you found at a flea market, or incorporate your grandmother's dinner-party aprons into a quilt.

Care

To remove pet hair try vacuuming with a soft brush attachment. Wash your quilt in a front-loading washer in cold water on a gentle cycle with a gentle soap - like Ivory Flakes. Remove very carefully from the washer - fabric tears easiest when it's wet. Tumble in a dryer on air until almost dry - then lay flat (not in the sun) to finish drying.
